Craftsmen are the heroes of the Capatina story. At our state of the art workshop in Walkinstown, Dublin, Capatina’s artisans combine traditional cabinet-making skills with modern precision tools to craft the finest quality bespoke furniture for your home or commercial environment.
Every item of furniture we make is unique and handcrafted.

Vadim Capatina was raised in the heart of Dublin City, he studied art for five years before training with a top German designer kitchen company. In 2008, keen to combine his passions for design and traditional craftsmanship, he founded Capatina Bespoke Furniture.
Vadim has worked for many years with many of Ireland’s most prestigious interior designers and has a wealth of experience working on high-end homes and stylish commercial projects including Druids Glen Resort in Wicklow, Mount Juliet Hotel in Kilkenny, and The Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links in Dublin.
Vadim is known for flexible, intelligent design solutions that future-proof a home. His innovative and practical ideas allow a space to grow with you, while never compromising on elegance.
Vadim is married to Christina and together they have two young daughters and a Pomeranian dog called Simba. They live in the village of Stepaside, at the foot of the Dublin Mountains. He says, “I am inspired by Ireland, by its beauty and culture. Home and family are everything to us, we know how important it is to have a home you are proud of. A place where friends and family are welcome and at ease. With little children around, all of our socialising happens at home.
For me, Capatina means style, functionality and workmanship that will stand the test of time.
“Together, we can create space you didn’t know you had”.

Why not call or email us to discuss your requirements?
It is often possible to give an initial estimate over the phone.
When you commission a piece of furniture from us, we strive to create a design, tailor made to your exact requirements. If there are architectural drawings, plans from an interior designer or images from magazines or the internet, these can all be forwarded for consideration after your initial phone or email contact and prior to the survey visit.Vadim will agree a time to call out to survey the space and consider your concept in terms of proportion, architectural and technical considerations. Vadim will discuss your specification while showing you examples of previous relevant projects, elements (such as mouldings, fretwork, finishes etc) to help inspire and assist with visualising your choice of design.
Vadim will discuss budget, specifying the costs costs of various optional elements such as integrated lighting, drawers etc. in order to inform your decisions and ensure your budget can be agreed.
Following The Survey Visit, Vadim creates a concept design to meet your specific requirements. Technical drawings are prepared to help visualise the furniture, its’ proportion in relation to surrounding architectural items such as windows/doorways, ceilings etc. and including individual design details, specified by you. A budgetary estimate is created and will include optional elements such as finishes, drawers etc to support your decisions.
A meeting is arranged at our workshop in Walkinstown, allowing you to meet our team, pet Simba, observe some of our work in progress and allow us to go through the features of the new design with you. This meeting gives you the opportunity to develop the design and customise the proposal until you are happy with the overall design and budget. All amendments are noted.
If required, we work closely with your architect, interior designer or contractor to ensure our workshop drawings and construction schedule accommodate any other building work as appropriate. A booking deposit of 50% is placed to secure final drawings and design, and a date and time to commence the project and fit the furniture negotiated.
Each piece is custom built and is created under the personal supervision of Vadim Capatina at every stage of its manufacture. This process takes approximately two weeks from commencement of a build – but the approximate time from survey visit usually takes about 8 weeks, due to lead times. You will be kept informed as to the progress of your commission, and we will make every effort to align ourselves with your building works.
We will arrange for your furniture to be delivered and installed by our skilled installers, co-ordinating with your builders as appropriate. Our team adhere to a strict code of conduct with regard to their conduct on site, showing respect for your home, your belongings, your décor and the work space. You can be sure that our team will ensure safety, minimising noise levels and cleaning up as they go as top priorities. Prior to leaving the site, Vadim will attend to inspect the installation and to discuss any issues, including how to care for it. At this point, the remaining final balance will be payable. Two weeks following the installation, Vadim will call again, in order to ensure your complete satisfaction with the furniture.
